ROBERT STONE Obituary

STONE--Robert, died at the age of 95 peacefully in his sleep on March 5, 2021. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he excelled in school, attending the University of Michigan at the age of 15. He enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17 and was part of the newly formed Army Air Corp. He did two tours in Europe, stationed in England. He later flew on the transition team at the end of the war with General Marshall. He returned to Brooklyn following the war and attended Brooklyn Law School where he met his future wife, Leila. They were married for more than 65 years. Bob was a founding member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and was a real estate attorney until he was 87 years old. Bob was a history buff, an avid reader and had a love of learning. He attended classes at Hunter College until the age of 94. He is survived by his three children, Andy Stone, his wife, Dana and their children, Zachary and Jessica; Bonnie Stone Sellers and her husband, Gary and their children, Britton, wife, Sarah, and great-grandchildren, Graham and Nate, Lindsay Sellers Alexander and her husband, Max; and Bob's daughter, Marjorie Stone, her husband, Rick Rodriguez, and their children, Clint, Nicole and Danielle; and his brother Gerald Stone.
