I am sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Ronald I. Dozoretz, a major force behind the establishment (and maintenance) of the DNIMAS (Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences) program at Norfolk State University. I did not know him personally, but taught many engineering and computer science students, in the DNIMAS program, at Norfolk State University, 1991-2016. The program produced many excellent students, of which, during my tenure there, many went on to graduate school and completed their advance degrees, some masters and some doctorates. Kudos to Dr. Dozoretz for playing a major role in the establishment (and maintenance) of such a program. It is helping to increase diversity nationwide, in mathematics and applied sciences.. (Dr. Archie W. Earl, Sr., Former Associate Professor of Mathematics, Norfolk State University)

Working with Dr. D became the cornerstone of my professional growth. I learned so much from him about caring, giving, and partnership. He was the very model of a big thinker, but also the big doer. He wasn't just a blue sky dreamer, but the sort of man who made ideas real. He was such a leader, and I am so grateful to call him a mentor and friend. To Beth and his entire family, my deepest sympathy is shared with you. He was a gift to all who knew him, but what a gift to you whom he loved.
