RONALD CASO Obituary

CASO--Ronald George, Esq., on May 19, 2013, born January 29, 1936. Beloved husband of Patricia, loving father of Elaine (Bruce), Ron, Janice (Donald), brother of the late Ralph and Robert. Ron received his undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude in Accounting from St. John's University in 1958 where he was a member of both the Delta Mu Delta and the Beta Alpha PSI Honor Societies. He was awarded the St. Thomas More full scholarship to St. John's Law School and received his J.D. Cum Laude in 1961 while also serving as Associate Editor of the Law Review. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in 1961, eventually ascending to the New York City Managing Partner, Tax Practice, and the North East Tax Director. Retiring from Arthur Andersen in 1992, Ron became a partner at Winston & Strawn in Manhattan and later Senior Legal Counsel at Redmond, Pollio & Caso in Garden City, NY. An expert in all areas of taxation, Ron was a sought-after speaker and writer for his tax opinions. In 1993, he received his LLM from the NYU School of Law and taught as a Professor in the Department of Accounting and Taxation at St. John's from 1997-2002. In 1998, Ron was awarded the St. John's Pietas Medal, the University's highest honor for alumni who have demonstrated exceptional service to the school. Funeral Mass: May 29, 2013, 10:30am, St. Peter's Church, 1327 Port Washington Blvd. Port Washington, NY 11050. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation.
