RONALD SHERMAN Obituary

SHERMAN--Dr. Ronald.

Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday at the age of 82 from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. A respected dermatologist in New York City for over forty years, he will be remembered as a talented doctor, a loyal friend, and adoring husband to the love of his life, Trish McEvoy, his wife of 39 years. Dr. Sherman graduated Cum Laude from Amherst College in 1958, and NYU Medical School in 1962. He completed his internship at Montefiore Hospital and his residency in dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In 1963, he became a Diplomate of the National Board of Dermatology, and served as a medical officer in the United States Coast Guard, a consulting dermatologist to the United Nations, and a consulting member of the New York Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Society. Dr. Sherman was on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, as well as the Assistant Adjunct Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital. Throughout his career he mentored many of the most respected dermatologists practicing today. Together with his wife Trish, Dr. Sherman built the premier dermatologist-devel- oped skin care center in New York City, revolutionizing the field of cosmetic dermatology, and pioneering the marriage of beauty and science that today has become an industry standard. He treated celebrities, politicians, socialites, and everyday patients with the same focused determination, caring disposition, friendly demeanor, and comforting sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all. Ron is survived by his wife Trish McEvoy, his twin brother Spencer Sherman and his wife Susan, his sister Pamela Pantzer and her husband Edward, as well as many nieces and nephews. A private family service was held on September 9th. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. For mailing checks: The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York NY 10163; For online donations: www.MichaelJFox.org
