RUTH KINGSBERG

KINGSBERG--Ruth Joel. Ruth Joel Kingsberg, age 97, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 7, 2025. She lived a life of determined independence, in the 88th Street apartment that was her home for the past 58 years. In both her personal and professional life, Ruth was a devoted teacher, curious listener, and sage counselor. Together with her beloved husband of 69 years, Reg Kingsberg, (died 2020), she embraced adventure at home and abroad. She was deeply committed to causes promoting a just and equitable society and she remained sharp, funny, connected and concerned for others until her very last day. Ruth is survived by three children, Robert Kingsberg, Alan Kingsberg and Sally Keller, six grandchildren, Emma, Melissa, Aaron, Liza, Abigail and Kayla, and three great-grandchildren. We will miss her wisdom, wonderful sense of humor, and loving attentions. A memorial service will be held at the Liederkranz Foundation, 6 East 87th St. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 3:00pm, with a gathering to follow at the Kingsberg's on 88th St. from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
