My brilliant friend.

There will never be another YaYa. Truly, I know no one as loving, warm, wise, funny, beautiful, resilient, joyful and ageless. I am so grateful that Ruth was my friend and next door neighbor in New York City for 24 years.
And that especially Paula, Jessica, Morgan & Luke were generous enough to share her with me. She was so proud of you--her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I am so lucky that I got to sit on her lap at a family celebration one last time only a year ago (and I am not a young person)!
She lived a good and long life. But seriously, who finds that fact at all soothing today? I want her back! So I will endeavor to "live like YaYa" today. She took joy in everything that life placed before her, and whenever I saw life through her eyes--it all seemed such a marvelous feast. What a legacy she has left us!
