SAM HALPERN

HALPERN--Sam. The Yeshiva University family is profoundly grieved by the passing of our cherished long time major supporter Sam Halpern, of blessed memory. Sam's leadership and commitment has made a profound impact on Jewish life both in America and Israel. Together with his late brother, Arie Halpern, z'l, they established the Sam and Arie Halpern Scholarship Fund for deserving and needy students including the descendants of Holocaust survivors. He and Gladys also established scholarship funds in their names and supported Holocaust studies at YU. A man of compassion and vision, he was revered by all who were privileged to know him. Heartfelt condolences are extended to his wife (Gladys), to his children, Fred (and Cheryl), David (and Sharon), Jack, Murray (and Batsheva) and to their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
