SAMUEL MANDEL

MANDEL--Samuel. Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passes away peacefully at 88. Described by many as "truly one-of-a-kind," he devoted his life to treating tens-of- thousands of dermatology patients, providing his family with endless love and laughter, and sharing his passion for fine art with everyone around him. Born in Brooklyn in 1933, to Sara and Frank, Sam grew up working at Ebbets Field and taking frequent trips to Coney Island. In 1962 he met his wife Annette at the Lido Beach Hotel. They were engaged in just 10 days and married 6 months later at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Sam and Annette would be by each other's side, inseparable for 58 years as they lived life to the absolute fullest. Starting from nothing, they worked hard, saving every penny they earned. Sam built his dermatology career from the ground up while Annette managed the practice. Today they enjoy life's luxuries, traveling between their homes in New York City and Palm Beach. They traveled the world visiting dozens of countries, experiencing the world's diverse cultures. They shared a deep passion for fine art, curating an impressive collection that will forever define him. Everything they have is from hard work. Together they built their American Dream. A family man, Sam's children and grandchildren also hold dear many cherished memories of their time together. His son Mitchell has fond memories of his dad teaching him to ski and waterski and practicing dermatology together, his daughter Jill cherishes their ski trips, bike tours, and worldwide adventures, and his grandchildren adore his infectious smile, funny faces, and of course his famous jokes. Sam is survived by his wife Annette, his children Mitchell and Jill, his daughterin-law Gabi, Jill's partner Dan, his brother Eddie, his grandchildren Jared, Jake, Julia, and Jonathan, his great-grandson Oliver, and countless family and friends who will deeply miss him. Sam is predeceased by his son Jason.
