SAMUEL NEWHOUSE Obituary
It is with great sadness that the Lauder Family mourns the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, S.I. Newhouse, Jr. A beacon of the publishing world, a visionary behind the leadership and creation of the world's most recognized magazines, and a mentor to so many, Si was at once a quiet soul and a powerful presence. He meant so much to all of us. Our families go back three generations to our parents, Sam and Mitzi Newhouse and Joseph and Estee Lauder, who met in the early 1950s. We've been great partners and done great things together. Our businesses have been deeply linked, and we will forever be grateful to Si for his partnership and friendship. We will miss his presence as a great American. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are with his cherished wife, Victoria, his brother Donald, children Sam and Pamela, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
