Sidney Stoller Obituary

1924 - 2019
Sidney M Stoller, 95, of Manhasset, NY, passed quietly on Wednesday morning October 2. A proud graduate (Chemical Engineering) of CCNY '43 (and a Townsend-Harris Award recipient), Sid Stoller established SM Stoller Corp. in 1959, with offices in Manhattan and Boulder, Colorado and became internationally recognized in the field of nuclear power. Beyond his many business achievements, Sidney was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by Billie, his wife of 72 years; three children: David Stoller (Barbara), Robert Stoller (Amy) and Lee Stoller Winder. His seven grandchildren are Samantha, Jessica (Dan), Molly (Eric), Eric (Ting Ting), Rosie, Jake and Sammy. Eddie is his only great-grandchild. Though he would never speak about himself, Sid Stoller was brilliant, modest, generous, funny, gregarious, genuine, ethical and admired. He consulted on all continents, as well as throughout the United States, travelled the globe with Billie, hosted energy executives from Japan, Russia, Mexico and many other places, and collected art along the way, accumulating an extraordinary collection in which they took enormous pride. Respected by colleagues, cherished by friends, adored by family and trusted by all, this kid from the Bronx, who once delivered newspapers to Hank Greenberg, "done real good".
Services will be held this Friday, 12:45, at Sinai Chapels, 162-05 Horace Harding Expwy, Fresh Meadows (Queens); Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

Sid was such a special man. You always felt better after a visit with Sid. He was truly interested and caring of his friends and most of all his family came first. He was so proud of his 3 children, and the love of his wife Billie, my friend. It was truly a gift and honor to have known Sidney. I miss his New Year´s stand up greeting and special open house New Year´s Day. May his memory be a blessing.

Belated condolences for the wonderful Sidney Stoller. After my parents, Bernard and Sylvia Pearlman passed in 2016, I fell out of the loop with my father's college pals, Sidney being one of them. He was such a great guy, warm, funny, caring, He and Billie seemed to be leading wonderful lives together. I was thinking of him today; the internet brought me up to date. He's made a lasting impression.

Very sorry to hear of Sid's passing. He was a wonderful, dedicated long-time friend to my parents Leon and Betty and our family. We shared many memorable times with Sid, Billie and their family. A truly remarkable person who will be greatly missed.

There could be no better person than Sidney Stoller. Paul and I have been honored and gifted with his friendship and our dear Billie for many years. Sid will be missed enormously but never forgotten. May we all meet up again to continue our conversations or to listen to dear Sidney give a speech of something that is dear to him and that will surely be his family, friends and of course City College. We love you Sidney.

Goodbye dear Sid. Wherever you are in this Universe, send more of yourself, our world needs many more of the likes of you. Meeting and knowing you and Billie was a significant highlight of my life. A more loving couple, (that made you two, glow), couldn't be found. A man of great integrity, contributor of gentility, citizenship, and cordiality. You have had a full life. Just wish I had more opportunity to spend time with you, as I always walked away from my visits with you and Billie, with hope and the feeling I had learned something wise and good. Rest in sweet peace good man. For Billie >> "Somewhere Over the Rainbow">>
