STEPHANIE BRAND Obituary

BRAND--Stephanie. Stephanie was born in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Sylvia Katz Brand and Jerome Brand. She gradu-ated from Brandeis Univer- sity and New York Law School, where she met her future husband, Mark Elder. She started her legal career as a hugely successful medical malpractice attorney, becoming a named partner at Katz, Katz, & Brand. After she left that firm in 1988 she partnered with David Golomb on cases involving the sexual abuse of female patients by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and religious counselors. She retired from the practice of law in 2004 to pursue an interest in photography. She traveled the world from Cuba to Bhutan with her camera and her ingenuity to seek photos that would tell a story or capture a moment. Her work has been exhibited at theaters, museums, public libraries, Sedona City Hall, and various galleries in Arizona. Currently, her work is available at the Village Gallery in Sedona. Stephanie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mark Elder, her brother Michael Brand, her nephews Jason Brand and Jonathan Brand, Jonathan's wife, Alison Brand and their daughter, Eleanor Brand.
