STEPHEN BLAU Obituary

BLAU--Dr. Stephen P., of Larchmont, New York, died on February 8, 2024, at the age of 81. He was a psychiatrist in private practice. Steve was born in New York City on December 15, 1942, the son of Harold Blau and Sylvia (Goldberg) Blau. He lived in Manhattan and Queens while he was growing up and was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and Queens College. He received his medical degree from Upstate Medical School and interned at Downstate Medical School. Steve did his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was a devoted practitioner and continued seeing patients as long as his health permitted. While he was in medical school, he met the love of his life, Patricia (Williams), who was studying social work. They were married for 54 years. He is also survived by his loving sister, Francine Blau and her husband Lawrence Kahn, and his half-sister Amy Blau. He doted on his nephew and niece, Daniel and Lisa Kahn, and his six grandnephews and nieces. He was an avid tennis player, dedicated to his bridge games, loved to ballroom dance, was a wine aficionado and gourmet dining enthusiast. He will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he touched. A memorial will be held at a later date.

I was very lucky as Albert Einstein assigned Dr. Blau to work with me. It was the early 1970´s. I saw him first in an
Office at Einstein then an
apartment on Pelham Parkway and and finally in Larchmont.
He was marvelous and changed my life. So sorry he´s gone. He was very special.
