Words cannot express how shocked I am to hear about Steve's passing. I am now thinking of all the time I spent working with him at the American Bible Society! Cathy, Matthew and Andrew, my deepest condolences to you! Steve was a wonderful man. He loved his family, his wife, and his boys. I met Steve many years ago at the American Bible Society and worked as his secretary. I later graduated from college and moved on. Even after I was not working for Steve, I would call him and seek his advice on managing difficult HR issues. He was always there to help and answer my questions. It is because of Steve King, that I stayed in the Human Resources field. I can truly say that Steve taught me everything I know in Human Resources. He will always be my best boss ever! He taught me that when dealing with people, you always want to leave them with their dignity intact, and this is what Steve did. I've seen Steve manage many difficult situations in Human Resources, and I can attest to how kind he was even when dealing with hard issues. He listened, and he made you feel that you were also important. I cannot say enough good things about Steve. I am just so glad that I got to know him and work with him. I will never forget Steve and his kindness. He was honest, hardworking and cared about those in need. You have left foot-prints in my heart. I will never forget you Steve. Love Pam

It was a pleasure to know Stephen King and a pleasure to have worked with him. He was a gifted and hard working servant leader at the American Bible Society. Those who knew him could always count on him to serve people and the common good of the organization by getting work done with excellence and with graciousness. He was blessed with a magnanimous spirit and a warm, winsome smile.
