STEPHEN SABBETH

SABBETH--Stephen J. age 76, of Quechee, VT, formerly of Oyster Bay Long Island, has passed away February 6, 2024. He was born on July 31, 1947. Stephen was a loving husband, father, and doting grandfather. Stephen was known for his great sense of humor, drive, and success. He was a partner in his father's company, Herbert H. Sabbeth Lumber Corp and the founder of Sabbeth Industries. He served politically as a member of the Long Beach City Council, later as the Chairman of the Nassau County Democratic Party and headed the Nassau County Board of Elections. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife Carole whom he cherished, sons Michael and Brian, daughters Lisa and Angela Marie (niece). He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Jaffe, adopted father Herbert H. Sabbeth, and mother Isabelle Sabbeth. Stephen was born in Morris Heights, the Bronx and attended PS109 for his primary education where he began his political career, running and winning a race for student council at 12, then later graduating from Long Beach High School. He further pursued his education at Hofstra University. A memorial service will be held at Star of David Memorial Chapels, located at 1236 Wellwood Ave., West Babylon, NY 11704.
