My deepest sympathy to the family of Steven Papp. He was a greatly respected and compassionate man who will be "greatly missed" by many at the NYS Psychiatric Institute.
I pray that God may mercifully open the gates to Heaven for Steve, allowing him to enter in and receive the graces and blessings God has in store for "all" his children, so all may then believe and live in God's grace for eternity. May He rest in Peace.

Even when he was suffering immensely he showed the courage, resolve and valiance to fight because of his love for his family and friends. He was truly the best. We will all miss him (I most certainly), but he will forever live on in our hearts.

I have only been at NYSPI for 2 1/2 yrs but am feeling Steve's passing very deeply. It is very rare to meet someone like Steve in the workplace. He provided NYSPI with a sense of stability and groundedness at the top AND was a nice and decent man...the kind of person every organization needs and longs for. You are terribly missed, Steve.

July 29th used to be the most wonderful day in my life... It is my birthday and Papp (like I called him) was always a huge part in making my day very special.
Now, this day has become my saddest. Papp was not only my "boss" for 14 years, but he was one of my best friends. He was my 2nd dad. I would go to Papp with ALL my personal troubles/problems and he ALWAYS made time to listen, advice and even cry along with me...
I have many fond memories of Papp and his family and will miss him very much!!! My condolences go out to Ronda, Jessy and Jeanene... (Papp's favorite three girls. ;-)
My pictures of him will forever stay in my office and his spiritual presence will live in my heart!!!
Like I always told him at the end of EVERY conversation... "I love you Papp!"
