Stuart Curran was the first professor I met at Penn. Imagine being a first-year student, assigned to read Frankenstein, and have your discussion led by Professor Curran! I had no idea of the reach of his scholarship at the time. He couldn't have been more warm, more gracious, or more insightful. We were fortunate to have him on our faculty and for his extensive service. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.

One of my favorite memories, spending time in Provincetown with my favorite uncles Stuart will be so greatly missed by our family, it honestly doesn´t seem real that he has left this world. I´m so grateful for our dinner together in February, a night I will always cherish.

My Uncle who has been a part of my family for my whole life left a beautiful light on this world. I am so blessed to have been a part of his life and every moment he shared with me. He throughout everything always encouraged me to be authentic and displayed what it meant to be true to yourself. Stuart you will be greatly missed. You will be in my mind and heart.

Uncle Stuart was beloved by all of his nieces and nephews. We will miss him so much. He was especially kind to my younger brother who is on the Autism spectrum. We were privileged to have him in our lives.

With immense love comes immense heartbreak. Our deepest sympathies to Joe who was blessed to have loved Stuart for 57 years.

When I met his nephew, John, I thought I struck the jackpot! Then in 2011 I met Stuart and Joe. I couldn´t believe it as I had struck the jackpot yet again. I fell in love with the two of them instantly. I am honored and blessed to have known Stuart even though it was for such a short time. He was a shining star in our life.

Our hearts break for the loss of Stuart and for Joe. We love you and miss you. You are forever in our hearts! Much Love Susan and John.
