BLESSED are we who mourn, for we are comforted ~ recognizing the divine "intergenerational" impartational and inspirational gifting of you, Cousin Sylvia!
As you enter the enfolding embrace of the Heavenly Realm's PEARLY GATES of JUBILEE with your lovely smile, let it be affirmed, acclaimed and proclaimed unto others, that I, my newly-wed daughter and late mother recognized that you were (and shall forever be) an invaluable irridescent "Pearl of Great Price"!
A Virtuous LADY OF SUBSTANCE. A Lady Petite in Height and TALL IN STATURE. A Lady of INTELLECT and INTEGRITY.
On behalf of my late Mother, Gwendolyn (nee Pinder) Taylor and our family (both here and abroad ), dearly beloved SYLVIA COAKLEY MATTHEW, in honor of our shared lineage and legacy, you remain FOREVER CHERISHED, FOREVER LOVED.
I love, adored and admired you. LOVE IS THE TIE THAT FOREVER BINDS. Olivette

A true friend and she will be greatly missed. I will always be thankful for the time we spent together watching "MSNBC", I would ask if that was the only channel she could get, she said NO, but it's the only one I like to watch. I loved her dearly, she will always have a special place in my heart. Rest my friend in the Saviors Arm.

Sylvia was the eldest of nine living children. She took that distinction seriously and was most loving and attentive to the needs of her younger siblings. She excelled in school activities as well as extra curricular and she never wavered from her strong belief in her God and her family values. She was a loving and dedicated Mother and Grandmother who instilled in her children sound Christian values. She will be sorely missed by her immediate and extended families. May God have mercy on her dear soul.

It is with profound sadness Marie and I Express our condolences and our heartfelt sympathy to the Matthew family in the loss of their love one, Sylvia Matthew.
Words are inadequate right now to Express how we feel about this phenomenal woman, a woman of God who loved her church, her community, and most of all children.
She was a kind, gentle and caring woman who was very sympathetic and courageous as well.
We will truly miss her.
Dont think of her as gone away,
Her journey's yet begun,
Life holds so many facets,
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting,
From the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort,
Where there are no days and years.
And think of her as living,
In the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And she was loved so very much.
