THEMIS DIMON Obituary
It is with great sadness that the Board, staff and membership of the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and the Board of the Helix Center have learned of the deaths of Themis and Ted Dimon who were deeply committed and devoted friends of both institutions. The last time I saw Themis was around 1953-55 at a dance at Columbia University. We had met at Erasmus Hall High in Brooklyn, and she had just gotten married to Ted, whom she introduced me to at the dance. She was often remembered by me as one of the loveliest people I've ever known and I will never forget her.

I knew M/M Dimon only from the standpoint of a Manager overseeing their beautiful apartment in Palm Beach, FL.
Mr. Dimon was an elegant man, if one can use that word anymore to describe a man of graciousness and kindness. I'm sorry to say that I did not get to know Mrs. Dimon until she came to me with her thoughts of renovating their apartment. In speaking with her, I could see that she was the "woman behind the man", and I admired her greatly.
I'm sorry for the families' loss, but hope they get comfort knowing that God watches over those who are giving to others.

Debbie and I were very saddened to learn of Themis and Ted's passing. Themis was unfailingly open-hearted, sincere, and judicious, and we will never forget the kindness and comfort she extended to Debbie during her illness. Ted was equally kind and an inspiring lover of wisdom. We wish their family much comfort in this time of loss.

I feel privileged to have gotten to know Themis Dimon in recent years as a lively and generous woman with a great love for and pride in her exceptional family, a strong sense of loyalty, an unquenchably curious mind, and an abiding interest in psychoanalysis. My wife Chris and I got to know Themis and Ted through Themis's interests in psychoanalysis and children, and later through various Greek cultural and musical activities. Themis was warm, down to earth, passionate about her interests, and always welcoming to me and my family. Ted was a wise and extremely well-read man who was generous with his experience, particularly with younger people. We will miss them greatly and offer our deepest condolences to the family.
