TRAUDL KERSZT-KRATSCHMANN Obituary

KERSZT-KRATSCHMANN, Dr. phil. Traudl. Profound sadness is expressed on the passing of Dr. phil. Traudl Kerszt-Kratschmann, Egyptologist, on her 86 birthday in February 2016, after a short illness. The academic world has lost a devoted scholar of the late Professor Hermann Junker and of Professor Sir Alan Gardiner, as well as a profound expert on hieroglyphic writing, Egyptian history and culture, philosophy, and knowledge of Christianity and Islam. She also represented the traditional European values of humanity and the ethics of the old Austrian Monarchy. At the behest of the deceased, funeral services were held in Vienna, Austria, for close friends and family members who are dearly missing her passion, wit and caring concern.
