Val was a joy, a gem, and a guide thru life. We challenged each other, supported each other, and held one another accountable to high standards as counselors and servant leaders. We met Val and Roger in 1989, when they were still in Tucson, in the early years of Roots and Wings. We spent an amazing week together, brainstorming, planning, developing, laughing, & eating very well. They were a fixture in our lives for 30 years. We miss them both and wish them a magnificent journey through the cosmos into their expanded consciousness. Thank you Val (and Roger) for being wonderful friends and encouragements in this world. You are always a point of light in our sky.

Val's smile entered the room 10 minutes before her! I will miss our chats. I just wish I had more time to tell her how much she meant to me.

She could read the room in an instant. Her strength and kindness made life more manageable and hopeful. She gave and never asked for anything in return. She laughed and loved with integrity, wit, intellect, and talent. She was so generous and kind and gracious. She was direct, compassionate, and loving. Oh, heavens-we have lost one of those rare people who left a wake of hope and optimism. "You have to try," she said. "You can´t quit," she said. "Love matters," she said. My heart aches for her. What a friend-

She made my life better. She made the world better. She was this extraordinary force of love, hope, and talent. She was an American Point of Light and was honored by President Bush. In truth, she was a universe of light, intelligence, and compassion. My broken heart misses her deeply.
