Dear Jimi,
I loved you like a brother, and shared so many things wit you that I cannot begin to list them all. So many Yankee opening days and so many playoff and World Series games together at the old and the new Yankee Stadium. I know you will have great seats for them in heaven. With all my love, to you, Joann and Jake, God bless the entire family,
Love,
David

Jimi,

You were such a dear soul and I will miss you so much! Your name came up in our meeting this morning with the announcement about your passing. I was so shocked and saddened. I remember when you and I took Jake and Sienna to Roosevelt Island to play tennis and then we had dinner together afterwards at Gorginos. I am so glad that you took the trip to Africa with Jake. Those will be memories he cherishes of you forever. I will miss you and so will all of your friends on Fulton Street. We love you.

Joanne and Jake...my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Deepest Sympathy,
Jennifer W

One of my fondest memories of Jimi goes back to the late 70's-there was a fall football game between the Main Store-105 and the Sale Annex.
Brawn (105) vs. Brain (Jimi's Sale Annex).
However, what Brawn didn't know that Jimi did: my brother Charlie Golden had been a high school football star. Jimi plotted their unsuspected victory, and yes, they won.
It still makes me smile to remember Jimi's and Charlie's elated faces-both gone now but never forgotten.
With love Maureen Golden

Just the evening before I heard this saddening news, I was reminiscing about Jimi with a friend who never knew him. Honestly, I will never forget his festive enthusiasm and spontaneous acts of kindness even during times of extreme bookstore busyness. I haven't seen him in years, but those inspiriting memories never dim.

Ody, "who are these people"? I jumped up from my seat at the Fillmore East on January 31st 1969 during the first time we saw Led Zeppelin live. Think it was us, Rickie Russo, Bubbie and Johnny Stanz that fateful night that none of us will ever forgot.

October 3, 2019

what can I say, the most generous friend I ever had over the course of a 55 year friendship. from our days at the Fillmore and Electric Circus, to our trips to the original Woodstock and Strawberry Fields festivals and more recently, to every Knick, Ranger and Yankee play off game to the hottest concerts. Ody (as we named him) from the Jimmy Olsen superman show, was a true GEM and I speak for everyone when I say we are all hurting in different ways because he meant so much to everyone he touched. He died too young, but make NO mistake, he lived this life to the fullest extent possible, always moving, always doing the right thing for everyone he knew, just a one of a kind person who will never be replaced by the people who knew him. I am very saddened as is everyone who knew him by is sudden loss, he left us too early and my heart goes out to his brothers, Len and Steve and of course his wife Joanne and son Jake along with the scores of family and friends who will dearly miss him. One of kind, irreplaceable and the world will never be the same place without knowing he is here with us and doing the right thing by all of us. His generosity was legendary, touched everyone he came in contact with, I am still stunned by his loss but I know it will grow worse with time, especially now with the Yankee play-off games beginning and that was his passion. He enhanced my life like no other person I have ever known and his loss will be felt until I join him someday. he is the first of our childhood friends to have died and its just been devastating these last two days knowing I will never hear his voice or receive a text from him again. Hopefully, he is now with his loved ones in heaven where he belongs but to us, here on earth, his exploits, his friendship, his caring will never be forgotten.

My condolences to the Riggio family for their loss. Though I have not seen Jimi in many years I was always aware of his genorosity and his hope for the Giants to win a Super Bowl.
