To the Fabricius family: What wonderful memories of Walter the friend, brother, husband, father, grandfather and business associate were shared at his memorial service today. His life was indeed textured with a richness of culture and tradition which contributed to his thorough appreciation and enthusiasm for modernity -in all its best forms. He was a rare colleague and friend who always communicated with a standard of dignity and respect - always had a natural interest and fascination for the ideas and words of his colleagues. With a boyish laugh, and a twist of delicate humor, he was a skilled diplomat, a talented businessman, and a memorable gentle-man, who treated every individual he met with kindness and generosity. I especially valued his youthful spirit and will always treasure his abiding friendship. Please accept my condolences and those of my husband, Carl, who also came to appreciate Walter's intellect and warm company.

Fabricius family: Please accept my condolences at Walter's passing. I was so happy to see him a couple of years ago at the service for John Rolfes, where he was his elegant self. I was a trainee in his group very, very early in my Deutsche Bank career, and will always remember and appreciate his expert guidance. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Dagmar,
I am terribly saddened and shocked to receive the news of Walter's passing. He was ageless and he left us way too early. His great smile, his gentle demeanor, his love of life, food, his family and the great stories he shared will forever live in my fond memories of him. May his soul rest in peace and I wish you and the family all the strength and patience to cope with this immense loss. My thoughts are with you and we will miss Walter.

My hearfelt condolences to Dagmar, Stephanie and Daniela and all the Fabricius Family Members. I was deeply saddened by the news of Walter's passing much too early. Walter was my mentor and sponsor at Deutsche Bank New York's Corporate Finance Department, at a time where women were still a rarity. Walter was a true gentleman, a wise and thoughtful leader. He was instrumental to my success in the banking world and I will always remember him with fondness and appreciation. In the tough business world, he treated even the harshest adversary or colleague with great patience and kindness. May all of you be consoled by the good memories of his wonderful spirit and love for life.
