I lived in Billy's building as a child and my memories of him are very warm (even if he once ran to tell my mother I was kissing a boy in the alleyway). I was a few years older than he and I have never forgotten his kindness toward me one Halloween when my 2 girlfriends decided to go trick-or-treating without me after making their costumes in secret. As I was crying in the lobby, he came up to me and said he'd come trick or treating with me and tried so hard to cheer me up.
I am so sorry he is gone. I couldn't believe it when I heard. My thoughts are with his family, especially Harvey.
I went to so many birthday parties in your house when we were little. Patti is gone, too. She died after Thanksgiving 2002. Today is her birthday. Maybe you're together.

Billy is my uncle. He used to call me "beautiful" and "YOUNG LADY!!!!!". The day he left for Peru he told my mother that I was turning into a "beautiful woman" and that I have a "bright future in front of me" and I was going to make "something big with myself".

Uncle Billy was always the one to turn to for a shoulder to cry on, or a good laugh. He'd call anyone and everyone at all hours of the night. My uncle was loved by EVERYONE he came in contact with and was friends with all people.

I love him and will miss him so much.

i only knew billy as a younge man. what i do remember is that he had a devilish smile that could light up a room. for all those who are hurting at this time keep his smile close to your heart. i will pray for his friends and family, especially his uncle harvey. who was more of a father then an uncle. i believe that we can have great sorrow and happiness when we loss someone close to us. remembering him will bring us all happiness. stephanie...staten island ny

Even though it may only take a moment to read this, it took me forever to write. It is almost impossible to sum up in a paragraph, what a lifelong friendship has meant. There comes a time when you add up all the pluses and minuses of your life. In this case, I'd like to add up all the great memories I have of you. It was an honor to have been your friend.
