WILLIAM SCHLEICHER Obituary

SCHLEICHER--William "Bill", of the Bronx, NY, died peacefully at home on August 20, 2023. A labor activist his whole life, Bill ended his career as the nationally recognized editor of The Public Employee Press, the newspaper of AFSCME District Council 37. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Chapnick; his sons Erico Schleicher and David Schleicher; daughters- in-law Kim Kelsey and Amanda Kosonen; and grandchildren Miri, Charlie and Nate. He loved his family, his friends, fish, New York City, and fighting for social justice. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Star Fund's Let Us Breath Fund or the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance.
