Yehuda Bauer

BAUER--Yehuda. The Officers, Board, and global staff of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee mourn the loss of Professor Yehuda Bauer, the renowned historian and towering figure in the field of Holocaust scholarship. A prolific author, Professor Bauer published over 40 books on Jewish history, including several volumes about JDC and those that highlighted our pivotal role in saving Jewish lives and shaping Jewish history over the past century, especially before, during, and after the Holocaust. Among other recognitions, Professor Bauer's distinguished work earned him the JDC-Herbert Katzki Award for best writing using archival material. We express our deepest condolences to Professor Bauer's loved ones, praying that future generations will benefit from his passion and dedication to telling the story of the Jewish people.
