ZELLE ANDREWS Obituary

ANDREWS--Dr. Zelle

Whitmarsh. Died on February 2, 2016 at White Plains Hospital. Zelle's lifelong commitment to feminism, reproductive freedom, LGBT issues, civil liberties, her Congregational church, the Democratic Party, animals, the environment and the teaching of history brought her more honors in each field than can be listed. Her biography can be found in Barbara Love's book, "Feminists Who Changed America 1963-1975." Zelle will be remembered as one who spoke for justice and fairness always. She was unwavering in her commitment to help those in need and she was not intimidated by challenges many would find too great. She is survived by her partner of seventeen years, Deborah West Zipf and by Peter Durbin, her nephew and Ann Durbin Eby, her niece.
