ZENA STEIN SUSSER

STEIN SUSSER--Zena. Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health mourns the passing of Dr. Zena Athene Stein Susser, visionary leader in public health science, inspiring mentor, and advocate for racial and social justice. She was a beloved colleague and friend to countless people in the United States, South Africa, and elsewhere. Zena was a cherished member of Columbia's faculty for 55 years, where she first led groundbreaking studies on neurodevelopment and, later, global responses to HIV that empowered women.
