Dolores A. Van Wettering, 78, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm EST, Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Lakeview Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Drue Tubbs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 pm EST at 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL 36867.
Dolores was born on October 5, 1943, in Teaneck, NJ, the daughter of John J. Woitasek and Myrtle Linley Woitasek. She worked for Burks Clothing Outlet and Hallmark Cards for years. Dolores was a member, and one time Queen, of the Red Hat Society as well and being involved with her church Quilting Bee. She loved animals and being outdoors. Dolores will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father, John J. Woitasek; mother, Myrtle Woitasek; Husband, Parker A. Van Wettering; and sister, Brenda Traughber.
She is survived by two sons, Guy (Mandie) Van Wettering and Tad (Joanne) Van Wettering; two Grandsons, Jonathan Van Wettering and Jakob Van Wettering; Granddaughter, Rebecca Van Wettering; Brother, John (Irene) Woitasek; great grandson Oliver Van Wettering; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bethany House of Auburn, AL or Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church of Beauregard, AL.

So sorry to hear this. Worked with Dee in the early 80's at Hallmark. She was a great boss,friend and surrogate mom. Will never forget her. Thoughts with the family during this time.
