She is preceded in death by her husband Jack MacDonald Dunlop and is survived by one daughter Jacqueline Harwell Durden, Seaside, FL, and two sons Daniel MacDonald Dunlop II (Anastasia Crispin) and Francis William Dunlop (Gary McMillan) both from Auburn. She also leaves five grandchildren: Matthew Durden (Lauren), Reston VA; Nissa Upchurch, Auburn; Robert Durden (Jane) Chapel Hill, NC; Abby Durden, Prescott, AZ, and Sam Dunlop, Auburn. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren: Jack and Claire Upchurch, Auburn; Charlie Coors, Golden, CO; and Lily, Eleanor and Jack Durden, Chapel Hill, NC. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 11, at 3:00 p.m. at the Auburn United Methodist Church Founder's Chapel with the Reverend George Mathison officiating. Elizabeth, who was known as "Lib", was born in Opelika, AL. She attended Judson College for two years and graduated from Auburn University (API) in 1940. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and the honorary fraternity Phi Kappa Phi. After graduation, she taught high school mathematics in Valley, AL. After she and Jack were married in 1941, they lived in Venezuela for six years, finally settling in Auburn in 1953. She was a member of AUMC for over fifty years, assisting with 2 and 3 year old Sunday School for ten years. She also served as a church trustee and an officer in the United Methodist Women. In recent years, she volunteered each Friday to assist with church bulletin processing and folding---a job she enjoyed greatly. Lib was also a member of PEO Chapter E, The Auburn Woman's Club (serving as Treasurer), DAR, Green Gardeners, and The EAMC Hospital Auxiliary, serving three terms as Treasurer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts, Auburn University or For Paws Animal Rescue, Auburn, AL. Your Mama was so sweet to all us AHS classmates of Billy when we were teenagers way back in 1966 before we were old enough to date or drive. She'd host parties for us in her home where we could gather, enjoy music and dancing in a fun, safe and lovely environment which our parents knew as a great place for kids.

She was still interested in helping our class at our 20th reunion, 20 years ago! She was such a gracious southern lady.

Dear Dunlop Family, We are thinking of all of you. We loved Lib from the moment we met her, now quite a number of years ago when we traveled there for a few Auburn games. We received Christmas cards from her for many years after that and will miss getting one this year. We will always remember how graciously she welcomed us to your home when we visited from DC. We can still see her so vividly in your living room, tending to her family and making sure everyone had something to eat and drink and was comfortable. She was a very special person to us and we will always remember her kindness and generosity. Love, Liz and Loye

Dear Billy, Danny, and Jackie,
I am so sorry for your loss. I still have the chocolate pound cake recipe she gave me 40 years ago. What a wonderful woman she was!
Love,
