September 2, 1949 - January 19, 2023
Gloria Jean Fincher Mims, 73, of Loachapoka, died Thursday, January 19, 2023. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 25, at Loachapoka Cemetery at 11 am, with Robert Spratlin officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, at Corbitt's Funeral Home. Mrs. Mims is survived by her daughter, Carla (Melvin) McGhee; son, Trey Mims; grandchildren, Tailir Peoples, Brandy Waites, Jennifer Glaser, Summer Sippial, Adam McConnell and Greyson Beau Mims; great-grandchildren, Kamila Rose Elias, Kelli McConnell, Wyatt McConnell, Annabelle McConnell, Dakota McConnell, Eloise McConnell, Jacob Peoples, Kyrie Mendez, Ariel Mendez, Hans Glaser and Liam Glaser; brother, Leonard Fincher; sister, Alice Chamblee; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melba Sippial; and parents, John and Faye Fincher. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a die hard Auburn fan. She loved spending time outside enjoying nature. This led to her love of plants and gardening. She also loved being around horses and going fishing. You could always count on her using some old-timey sayings when you talked with her, and she especially loved her family.
