Funeral service for Haedyne Wilson, 12, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate.
Haedyne, who passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born April 1, 2010 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, September 30, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Beonka Wilson of Opelika, AL; maternal grandmother "Nana", Diahonna Wilson (Tyrone Milford) of Opelika, AL; paternal grandfather, Dwayne (Malinda) Richardson of Opelika, AL; maternal great-grandmother "Granny" Barbara Wilson of Opelika, AL; one aunt, Queenessa Wilson of Opelika, AL; two uncles, Dwayne Richardson, Jr. and Devhin Wilson both of Opelika, AL; three great-aunts, Melissa Wilson, Colleen (Reverend Robert) Strickland and Vanessa (Reverend Johnny) Nelms all of Opelika, AL; four great-uncles, Jacques Wallace, Christopher Wilson both of Opelika, AL, Ken (Mechelle) Wilson of Jonesboro, GA and Timothy (Kendra) Wilson of Hampton, GA; four special cousin, Brooklynne Tolbert, Ayson Richardson, Addison Richardson and McKenzie Wilson; a host of other relatives, schoolmates, teachers and friends.

Haedyne was in my school age classroom. She was shy when I started working there. Once I got to know her, I learned we were Aries. Then I learned that we shared the same birthday! April 1st, April fool babies. So we´re both goofy! We would always tell each other that our birthday is coming up and tell each other our plans! But she was shy at times and I respected her boundaries. When she came in the classroom, she KNEW that she was about to leave in five minutes. She didn´t want to take her backpack off or eat a snack (now when we had apples, she would eat that)! She knew at 3:35, her grandma was coming to get her. When her grandma (Barbara) walks through that door, Haedyne might be standing right there in her face.. READY with a big ol smile from ear to ear. When she came off the van, she would have a book in her hand and every 2 days it was a different book! Haedyne was a beautiful, smart young woman and she´s TRULY going to be missed.
