HOSEA HICKS Mr. Hosea Hicks, 94, of LaFayette died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Centerview Baptist Church, Camp Hill on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Gary Hardy officiating. Interment will be in the Ozias cemetery, Camp Hill. The remains will lie instate at the church one hour before the service. Mr. Hicks was born in Tallapoosa County to the late William and Lavada Hicks on March 28, 1918. He was the oldest member and oldest deacon at the Centerview Baptist Church. On March 12, 1949, Mr Hicks married Icy Belle Tolbert. They had five children. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife, three sons: Elderidge, Lewis and Howard Hicks and one daughter: Maggie Holloway. Mr. Hicks is survived by one daughter: Shirley Hughes, Huntsville; one son-in-law, John Holloway, LaFayette; two sisters-in-law, Myra Hicks, Camp Hill and Dennie Hicks, Apopka, FL and seven grandchildren: Warren, Tanya, Kim and Carolyn all of LaFayette and Greta, Webster, TX, Brandon, McCalla and Angus, Huntsville and two great-grandchildren: Key'lun, LaFayette and Cayla, Webster, TX and many other relatives and friends. Vines Funeral Home, Inc., LaFayette, is handling the arrangements.
