JONATHAN STENSON Obituary

JONATHAN STENSON Funeral service for Mr. Jonathan Stenson, 68, of Opelika will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Bishop Kenneth Carter will officiate. Mr. Stenson passed Friday, December 7, 2012 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab Center. He was a member of Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. His remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Survivors: two brothers, Rochester (Pinkie) Stenson and John (Diane) Stenson both of Opelika; seven sisters, Bernice Thomas, Thelma Holcey, Alma Thomas and Doris (George) Holcey all of Opelika, Ruby Carlisle and Ruth (Sallie) Morgan both of Cleveland, OH and Estelle (Charlie) Baker of Miami Gardens, FL; two aunts, Carrie Fears, Tuskegee and Bennie Mae Stenson, Opelika; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. I was so sad when I heard the death of Joe,I remember as alittle girl,you use to love for me to say your name,cause it tickle you. I will say it one more time "Joe"I am so hurt,I will miss you and carry the memories in my heart.

I was so sadden to learn of the passing of Mr Joe. I remember him fondly from my grandmother's home Ms Julia Mae Williams; where he would play his harmonica and always had a smile. To the family, know that he is resting with our Father.
