Joseph Gray Obituary

Funeral service for Joseph C. Gray, Jr., 51, a resident of New Brunswick, NJ and formally of Opelika, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Thompson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Dr. A.L. Wilson will officiate. Mr. Gray passed away in New Brunswick, NJ. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in New Brunswick and a former member of Thompson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. In 1973, he graduated from Opelika High School and enlisted into the U.S. Air Force serving for 13 years. Survivors: son, Johnny Johnson of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Jacqueline Gray of Piscataway, NJ and his twin, Josephine (Jerry) Braverman of Opelika; grandchildren, Tanasha Johnson, Jaire Johnson, Ezra Johnson and Amanda Johnson; nieces, Karen Gray, Ashley Graves, Brennan Braverman and Monique Gray; nephew, Hassan Anderson; several great nieces and nephews; aunts, Bernice Slaughter of Gary, IN and Antoinette (Adam) Steed of Boston, MA; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
