Graveside service for Sam Baker, 60, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Robert Cadenhead will officiate.
Mr. Baker, who passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home in Opelika, AL, was born September 24, 1960 in Macon County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: longtime companion, Dorothy Melton; three children, Eric (Nekida) Melton, Princine (Bernard) Harris and Shannon Fitch (Ruben Simpson, Jr.); eight grandchildren, Jaida Finley, Mariyah Barsh, Tre'Veyon Harris, Janya Robinson, Jamias Pitts, Glenn Kindell III, JyLeel Fitch and JyLeah Fitch; two brothers, Jerome (Rose) Gunn and King Baker both of Opelika, AL; special niece, Kimberly Gunn of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
