Tommy Thomas Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Tommy Lee "Pete" Thomas, Sr., 74, of Salem, AL will be held at 1:00 pm (cst) Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Peterson and Williams Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery. Rev. Marvin Davis will officiate.
Mr. Thomas passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home. In 1967, he graduated from Wacoochee High School. During the Viet Nam War, he served his country in the US Army. Upon returning from the military, Mr. Thomas obtained associate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Opelika Technical School. After thirty-five years of employment, he retired from Uniroyal Goodrich.
Public viewing will be held Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm (cst).
He is survived by: two sons, Tommy Lee Thomas, Jr. and Andrae Thomas both of Salem, AL; three daughters, Roshona Thomas and Faye Turner both of Salem, AL and Shanavion Thomas of Opelika, AL; seven grandchildren, Jehniyah Thomas, Jaden Strickland, Zayden Harris, Za'Mauri Harris, Za'Kayden Harris, Quandarius (Nybria) Weaver, Sr. and Saniah Thomas; one great grandson, Quandarius Weaver, Jr.; one aunt, Jessie Mae Pollard of Opelika, AL; a very special loving, devoted caregiver, Roshona Thomas; additional caring devoted caregivers, Ms. Sallie Brooks, Ms. Annie Ogletree and Ms. Sandra Ingram; the staff of Kindred Hospice of Columbus, GA and Armetha Johnson along with the staff of the VA Medical Center in Tuskegee, AL; other relatives and friends.

Cool, awesome laid back guy! I often took my break with him at work because I enjoyed his sense of humor. So respectful. He will be missed.
