Odessa - Andy Burk, age 67 went to Heaven in the Spiritual sense from his home in Odessa at dawn Sunday morning May 5th, 2024. He died of ESLD and kidney disease. A private graveside burial is to be Wednesday May 8th at Sunset Memorial in Odessa 3:00pm. James McCrary will be officiating. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at FBC Odessa at 2:00pm. Pastor Byron McWilliams officiating. Andy was born May 19th, 1956, to Coleen and Art Burk. Andy lived in Odessa, Abilene, Wichita Falls, Enid OK, Tulsa OK, Little Rock AR, Austin, Tx. and Horseshoe Bay, respectively. Andy attended east Odessa schools primarily. Competing with passion as a basketball and baseball player. Attempted walking on the University of Texas Baseball team as a freshman. Deciding studies a better concentration. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with exactly the number of hours needed in 1978 with a Business Degree in Accounting. Andy had immaculate handwriting as an adult. He gathered quality friendships easily, all his life. Andy and Lee Ann were married in 1978. Passion turned unselfishly toward agape love as commitment grew, smiling down. Andy worked as a young man, primarily in the family business G. Q. Salmon & Son. He owned and operated H & H Suppliers, LLC. Selling work gloves within the Hill Country. Andy enjoyed selling real estate within HSB for the Busse Group. As Andy grew Spiritually, he loved men's biblical fellowship. He began the first mens CBS group in Marble Falls. Recently, a Links Fellowship in Odessa from OCC. He has many brothers in Christ, today. Andy learned to play golf as an adult, hitting his driver a long way down the fairway. Andy showed disciplined attentive love as a young father to Austin and Ellen coaching team sports. His interest in the University of Texas grew. College recruiting, he focused on UT an obsession gleaning in a harmless way. He enjoyed working in the yard during healthier years. He made excellent soups. Favorite food surely, potatoes. He did have a soft side. This apparent with a good eye decoratively or designing, being a man. He was easily satisfied being at home in the evenings with Lee Ann. His rescued Dalmatian dog he named "Big" is with him. Years ago, Andy pleased Lee Ann with traveling to many places around the world. As a grandfather he is affectionately known as Pappy. Making gas stove top popcorn watching an animated movie, enjoying late evening sleepovers with them. Andy is survived by his wife Lee Ann; son, Austin Burk, wife Amber. Their children, Caroline, Camille and Tripp; daughter, Ellen Wilkerson; husband, Jason; their children Cooper and Whitley. Recently preceding Andy in passing has been his older brother Jeff Burk. Andy has wonderful relationships with brother-in-law Tommy and his wife, Julie Ann. David Salmon, inclusive. Uncle Roy Williams, soulmate Ramsey along with Aunt Fredda and Robert Dean from Ok City. Numerous affectionate nieces and nephews who respected Andy. The family would like to give thanks to all physicians and providers from Llano, Gatesville, Fredericksburg, San Antonio, Ft. Worth and Odessa. At the end of this life, Home Hospice Nursing in Odessa caring compassionately a handful of days. Selected pallbearers set apart, Know. The family asks friends to give to the benevolence of choice to honor our maker. Because Andy never sought accolade. He truly lived to Glorify our Lord and Savior. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. To send condolences to the family, please sign his guestbook at www.sunsetodessa.com.

Andy was a bright light in our world. He was full of fun and encouragement. Gone way too soon. He did great charity work for the Rehab Center back in the day and was a great leader in Men´s bible study. God bless Andy and his family.
