I taught with Teresa at Hays magnet in Odessa. She was a bright light to everyone and such a sweet friend. I am so sad for the family . I taught Garren in the afternoons in reading groups and I always loved reporting to Teresa how sweet he was and how he made me laugh! We played together on the teacher's volleyball team...she played and I tried to stay out of her way. Such a sweet friend and loving mother and wife.

I am fortunate to be the P.E. teacher who took Teresa’s place after she retired, as well as a friend of the family long before that. Teresa absolutely always stood up for what she believed was right. She nurtured her P.E. program into a very well oiled machine that is still alive and flourishing today due to the foundation she built. Every time we start a new lesson I think to myself “how would Coach Laughlin teach this skill?” She will be sorely missed in the AISD Physical Education community but far more through her family and friends.

I reconnected with Teresa at our high school reunion, she gave me some encouraging advice about being a grandparent. I remember her as being the strongest, fastest runner I had ever seen in junior high, I could not keep up.
To Teresa’s family, I’m sorry. There’s people out there praying and thinking of you. What a loss for the human family here on earth.
