Barbara Townshend Obituary
Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She always took care of us. She was the greatest Granny & Gigi. Barbara was a giving person full of love for all.
Barbara loved going to church and was strong in her faith. She loved playing Bunko with her friends and enjoyed vacationing with her family on cruise ships.
Barbara worked as a dispatcher for the Ector County Sheriff's Department for 27 years. She was very active on the Ector County Fair board for many years, serving as VP of Entertainment and President.
Those left to cherish her love and memory include her husband of 30 years: Jeff Townshend; her children: Wendy & Kevin Allen, Daphne Helms, Deborah & Bill Taylor, and Amanda & Michael Wheeler; grandchildren: Sidney & Christian Helms, Jace Hensley and Gage Wheeler; great-grandchild: Liam Amaya; parents: John & Pat Harris; and her siblings: Donna Reyenga & family, Don Harris & family and Tim Harris & family.
She was preceded in death by her sister: Patsy Riggle and her husband Carlos; and her sister: Sherry Arnold.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church, 505 E. 42nd Street, Odessa, TX 79762.
Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.

Just found out of Barbara's passing. She was a sweet person. I have known her since Amanda and I were back in elementary and living in the same apartment complex. I would spend alot of time with Amanda and the rest of the family on weekends just hanging around. Those were great memories for me with her family. My condolences to Amanda and the rest of the family. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

Barbara was a great influence & teacher during my first years as an Ector County Sheriff's Office dispatcher. She taught me so much. The thing that I remember the most is her smile, I don't think I ever saw her without one. I'm so sorry for you loss.
