CEDAR PARK - Barry L. Reiswig, aged 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at his home in Cedar Park, Texas. He was born October 3, 1950, in Austin, Minnesota, to Clarence and Eunice Reiswig. He was a 1973 graduate of Bethany Nazarene College (SNU). He served with Market Place Ministries in Odessa for 10 years, while serving 15 years as Pastor of the Odessa Faith Church of the Nazarene in Odessa, Texas. He retired in February of 2018 and relocated to Cedar Park, Texas to be close to his children and grandchildren. Throughout all things Family was his first priority. Sorry to hear of Barry's passing. My family would have been there, but heard too late. My family give our best to Christine and children and family. Great memories of family reunions. Last saw Barry in 2011, he married my son, Jason and Susan. He will be greatly missed. A fond memory I have is of one Sunday in the late 70s when Barry was pastoring in Salina, Kansas. A Church outing to the lake occasioned a long ride for me (I was about 13 at the time) with Barry and Chris and Jason. It was a wonderful day--one of those really hot and windy Kansas summer days. We listened to folk music all the way--I particularly remember Barry liking the song "Lemon Tree." Maybe the music-sharing resulted from Barry and Chris knowing how much I love music. Whatever the reason, it was lovely to be with Barry and Chris on that day and on many others. Barry always had a welcoming and gentle spirit. The world will miss him.
