Bobby Wheeler Obituary
Bobby was raised in Odessa, Texas. He attended Odessa schools, graduating from Odessa High School in 1954. He was a cheerleader, class favorite and most handsome, also participated on the swim and dive team. He attended Texas Tech University and Sul Ross University. His favorite thing as a teenager was walking the entire ranch hunting arrowheads.
He worked at various jobs until he found his real calling as a Highline Lineman. He worked as a lineman for over 30 years connecting electric power over rivers, bridges, and mountains for surrounding communities.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger of Marysville, Wash.; his children, Denise Kerstine and husband Tom of Oklahoma City, Okla., Robert Wheeler of Auburn, Wash., Jennifer Lovern and husband Jon, Kelly Malloy, Kristina Solee, Wiley Wheeler, and Holly Wheeler, all of Marysville, Wash.; his brother, C.O. (Pete) Wheeler Jr. of Lubbock; sisters, Freddie Jean Wheeler of Midland, Helen Joyce Bowers of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Molly Jo Rice.
Bobbie was cremated in Marysville, Wash., and his ashes will be scattered over the old Wheeler Sandhills Ranch, five miles east of Kermit, Texas.
On Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, a family and friends visitation is scheduled at MCM Grandé FunDome from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at the same location. After the memorial service we will go the ranch to scatter his ashes.
