Cortney DeWayne Hartman

ODESSA, TEXAS - Cortney DeWayne Hartman was born October 10, 0978 in his beloved hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. He was educated by Montgomery Public Schools. Cortney began his professional career at the Alabama Department of Corrections, served as Team Leader at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, and moved on to showcase his incomparable work ethic as a Level II Pipeline Construction Technician across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma for Versa Integrity Group until his untimely passing in Lea County, New Mexico. Most notably, he loved being a father and spending time with his family. Cortney never met a stranger and his love for the "Nawfside", Boston Celtics, Alabama Crimson Tide football, classic cars, and an impromptu barbecue were no secret.

Cortney was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, John Davis "Bae" Hartman, Sr. and Dolores Streety Hartman. He leaves loving memories and an admirable legacy to be cherished by two beautiful children, Derrick "Big Dog" Hartman and Skylar "Pooh" Hartman (Calera, AL); a devoted mother, Clouidaette "Lisa" Hartman; admiring siblings, Derrick "Red" (Alfreganda) Hartman and Chantel "Mook" Hartman (Oklahoma City, OK); loving aunts and uncles: Rodney Streety, Angela "Tee" (Danny) Hall (Auburn, AL), John "Junior" D. Hartman, Jr., Chenita "Bug" Hartman, Artherine Hill (San Antonio, TX), and Thomas (Maxine) Streety; adoring cousins: Kristi "Moon" Hall (Atlanta, GA), John "Big Country" D. Hartman, Ill (Tuscaloosa, AL), Jaelon "Chunk" Brown, and Jordyn "Toot" Hartman, and a host of extended family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Cortney was unmarried at the time of his passing.

Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed issued an Official Proclamation celebrating Cortney's life and honoring his passing.

The family held Cortney's funeral service on May 7th at Maggie Street Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, Pastor Ezekiel Pettway, Sr. (Senior Pastor) and Pastor Monte D. Maddox (Officiating). Cortney's many, many friends and family, including his mother, children, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins were in attendance.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, May 14th in Odessa at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Cortney's friends and coworkers in the Permian Basin are invited.
