It's been many years ago that Paul, Mona Smith and I attended the First Church of the Nazarene on Amburgy Steet. We grew up there, attended Vacation Bible School together, were baptized by Pastor Pearl Keeton and became lifelong friends. Mona and family, you are in my heart and prayers. What a shock to see his obit. Paul lived his faith before all and I know it will be soon, we will see each other again. God Bless you all.

I Met Bunt when I was in little league. He was always at the ball park. We continued our friendship until he passed. We worked together at Bonham Jr. High. He was a good Coach who cared about his players. Many memories of scouting games for Permian, watching film, and creating a scouting report. I am greatful he was my friend. He and Mona were always nice to me. I will rejoice "Bunts" life. He taught me many things during our friendship and love for Baseball. I will miss you Bunt.

My wife and I would like to express our sincere condolences to Paul´s family. Paul and I worked and coached together at Bonham Jr. High. He was such a great friend and mentor to me. Paul was one of the groomsmen at our wedding. I will always remember working and scouting with him for Permian High School.

Paul was a mentor to a lot of umpires in West Texas. My fondest memory with Paul was working a baseball game in Andrews with him. He made a call at third base, the coach did not like the call. Take into account that Paul is a large man and the coach was not. I remember to this day the coach moving towards Paul quickly and voicing his displeasure. Paul stuck his right hand out(slow down) and said you don't have to yell at me coach we are 3-4 feet from each other I can hear you just fine. Paul deescalated the tense situation with a simple gesture. Masterful. Rest in peace. God Bless you and your family.

Paul Burnett became a member of my family when his sister Paulette married my uncle Richard McDougle. He and I served as the candlelighters together at their wedding. We were probably 11 and 12 years old. We called him Bunt because of his baseball nickname. To this day, I still call him Bunt and have to remember to use his legal name when doing business with him. As an adult he has sold me numerous vehicles. He was a man of integrity and honesty and could always make anyone laugh. I consider him a friend and a person that would not lead me wrong. He will leave a legacy here on earth because of all of the people he has touched in his lifetime. He will truly be missed and I have no doubt he is celebrating in Heaven with family and friends that welcomed him with open arms. My deepest condolences to Mona, Christian, Babs, Claudette, Kalee and extended family and numerous friends. May God, family and friends give you comfort and love through precious memories and hugs. Much Love Linda Hall

One thing i am going to miss about my father is the talks that we had when i have a question about something or just to check on him and everyone at home. I am going to miss seeing him in person and giving him hugs. I am going to miss the close father and daughter relationship we had. I will cherish that moment for the rest of my life. I was completely heart broken that i lost my best friend and father. I love you dad and you are always in my heart forever.
