Peggy Nell Knowles, 79 of Bennington, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2014. Peggy passed at home with her husband Clay by her side of natural causes. Peggy Nell (Roberds) Knowles was born on August 10, 1934 in Algerita, TX to Edgar and Nell Roberds. She was married to Clay Knowles on October 5, 1972 in Juarez, Mexico. She attended school in Richland Springs, TX. Peggy was the first woman District Manager for 7-Eleven in West Texas. Then went on to drive a hot shot truck for DQ Wise. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening, antique shopping and collecting, traveling and baking and cooking for her family. Peggy was a part of the Bryan County Antique Tractor Club.
Peggy Knowles is survived by her husband of 41 years Clay Knowles of Bennington, Oklahoma; her children; Connie and husband Greg Cline of Big Springs, TX, sons, Mike Land of Weatherford, TX and John Land and wife Neesa of Bennington, Oklahoma; step-son, Perry Knowles and wife Lily of Granbury, TX; grandchildren, Tracy Wegner and husband Tommy of Big Springs, TX, Jared Ring and wife Baylea of Longview, TX, Kelly Knowles of Ft. Worth, TX, Brittany Knowles of San Marcos, TX, Matt Land and wife Kendra of Bennington, OK, Lindsey Land of Odessa, TX, Tatum Land of Odessa, TX and Robert McMillian of Odessa, TX; great-grandchildren, Morgan Pierce of Big Springs, TX, Tristan Ring of Longview, TX, Kynlea Ring of Longview, TX and Lucas Land of Bennington, OK; brother, Lanny Roberds and wife Lois of Bennington, OK. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Nell Roberds; step-daughter, Dana (Knowles) McMillian.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Friday May 16, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Bennington First Baptist Church in Bennington, OK. officiated by Rev. Clark Harp and Gary Hall. Pallbearers will be Jared Ring, Matt Land, Morgan Pierce, Billy Roper, Jess Holloway and Waylon Knowles. Peggy will be laid to rest at the Jackson Cemetery following the service.
