Samuel Gutierrez Obituary

ODESSA - Samuel Alvarez Gutierrez, 50, of Odessa, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born January 18, 1966 in Big Spring, Texas to Jesus M. Gutierrez and Juanita Alvarez Gutierrez. Samuel was a disabled veteran.

Samuel graduated from Odessa High School in 1984. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp and was sent to Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California. Samuel was a devoted and loving son to both his father and mother. Samuel assisted and cared for his elderly father and mother.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus M. Gutierrez and brother, Fernando Gutierrez.

Survivors include his mother, Juanita Alvarez Gutierrez, a brother, Carlos Gutierrez and wife, Rachel Gutierrez, and also four sisters: Cecelia Glick and husband, Art Glick; Terri Ramirez and husband, David Ramirez; Esabel Jensen and husband, Erik Jensen, and Catherine Tolbert, and husband, Kevin.

Pall bearers and honorary pall bearers include his nephews: Juan, Chris, Robert Robles, Adrian Ramirez, John-Paul Glick, Bryan Gutierrez, Thor and Jeremy Jensen, Edward and Stephen Gutierrez, Jarod and Jacob Tolbert and "Cousin" Enrique Sanchez III

Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 9:00pm Tuesday, December 6, 2016 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 N. Jackson Avenue, Odessa, Texas.

Mass is set for 10:00am Wednesday December 7, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 907 S. Dixie Blvd Odessa, Texas 79762 with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating.

Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Rosehill section.

Services are entrusted to Odessa Funeral Home.

Wuz good Sam we going to miss u bro I wish u where still hear but u in a better place no more pain that's cool but it hurts u gone tho I'll see u again one day Sam but not yet love u like a Tio remember that love Erik ...hey Sam this is Irene we are going to miss u so much I can't believe your gone. U were always there for us no matter what and for that we will always love u! The kids will miss u and will always remember u! It hurts that u are gone but we have to let u rest we know you are in a better place. Just know that to us u were family we will always love you Sam!! Love the Cedillo family
