Trace Covington Obituary

ODESSA - Trace Daniel Covington, 15, of Odessa, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 in Odessa. He was born Wednesday, September 11, 2002 to Leslie (Burns) and Doyle Covington in Odessa, TX. He was born with William's Syndrome which only served to make him an even more loving soul. Trace never met a stranger and loved everyone he met. He loved his bird Rex and watching his You Tube videos all night. The beautiful thing about Trace was he did not complain. He did not feel sorry for himself or ask God, "Why me?" He loved life. He loved his family and he loved being social. Trace and his cell phone could drive you nuts, but that will be the one thing I miss the most. His incessant face time calls all hours of the day and night: that will be a hard one to not have anymore. He always considered himself a super hero and those around him had to agree. He wanted to grow up and be a doctor, so he could save the world. To those who had the privilege of knowing Trace he truly was a super hero and he will be missed by so many. Trace Daniel, your momma loved you more than you will ever know. God knew what he was doing when he picked her for you. We love you Sweet Angel and until we meet again we will miss you every day!

Trace is survived by his loving mother Leslie Covington and her fiancé Benny; his two brothers: Nathan and Tristan Covington; his dad: Doyle Covington; his maternal-grandpa: James Harper; his paternal-grandma Deola Covington and many cousins and friends that loved him so much.

He was preceded in death by his maternal-grandma: Ella Cisco and his paternal-grandpa: Charles Covington.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted with Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.

My deepest and most sincerest condolences on the loss of your son. He could definitely light up a room and now he has his wings to match his angelic personality. Please give Tristan my condolences as well. I'm deeply sadden that I did not see his obituary sooner otherwise I would have attended his services. May God comfort you now and in the days to come.
