Abigail "Abbie" Rose LaBarbera, 17, of Canonsburg, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2020, in UPMC Childrens Hospital, Pittsburgh, with her devoted family by her side. She was born May 14, 2002, at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Jennifer Polly (Louis Kun) of Canonsburg and Mark LaBarbera (Jennifer Chapman) of Penn Hills.
Abbie was a 2020 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands. She enjoyed music, animals and especially time spent with her cousins.
Abbie shared her life with many, despite having battled EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) all her 17 years of life. Her constant seeking of joy in family, friends, nature, reading and dancing kept her spirit alive. She stayed determined to live in this life day after day, through pain and setbacks with laughter.
Left behind to cherish her memory, in addition to her parents, are her sister, Haylee LaBarbera of Canonsburg; her brother, Andrew "A.J." (Perlita) LaBarbera of Denver, Colo.; her maternal grandparents, James and Patricia Tomsic Polly of Houston; her paternal grandparents, Salvatore and Katheryn Felter LaBarbera of Penn Hills; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P.
