Alexander W. Marran, 96, formerly of Bentleyville, died Monday, June 4, 2018, in Transitions Healthcare, South Strabane Township.
He was born in Ellsworth June 16, 1921, a son of Domenico and Filomena Zappone Marrama.
Alexander was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, and a life member of Independent Club, Bentleyville.
He was the owner of Al's Body Shop from 1946 until his retirement in 1972.
Alexander loved playing poker and going to casinos. He was a bowler, golfer and avid hunter.
Surviving are a son, Alex (Kathy) Marran of Scenery Hill; three daughters, Linda (Bob) Kvortek, Donna Collins and Gina (Dane) Latta, all of Bentleyville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Mary Marran Gosney; a grandson, Andrew Latta; three brothers, Patsy, Perino and Victor Marran; and two sisters, Marion D'Andrea and Josephine Marran.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Friday, June 8, in Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes Inc., 405 Main Street, Bentleyville, with the Rev. James Bump officiating. Interment will be private.
