Alfons W. Peters, 58, of Canonsburg, passed away, Saturday, October 7, 2023, in his home following a battle with several health issues.
He was born June 8, 1965, in Uniontown, a son of the late Vilus and Jacqueline Defino Peters.
Mr. Peters was a 1983 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Following high school, he spent several years with the United States Navy.
He had worked as controller for Allegheny Valley Transfer in West Mifflin, and was a self employed tax consultant, through his own company, Alfons Peters Consulting.
Alfons was a member of the NRA and former member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed following all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins and Steelers.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Welling (Robert) and Victoria McCartney (Joey) both of Canonsburg; a grandson, Carter Welling; a sister, Renate Smith (Bill) of Carmichaels; a niece, Nicole Jones; a nephew, Kenneth Ayres III; three great-nieces and a great-nephew; and his daughter's cat, Shadow McCartney.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner / Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
A celebration of Alfons life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the family residence.
