With his family by his side, Andrew "Andy" Morse Young, formerly of Venetia, passed peacefully from this life into life-eternal Sunday, February 6, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Andy's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Cynthia Spon Young; two daughters, Kaitlin Godfrey (Jason) and Molly Boudreault (Dr. David); and three adoring grandchildren. Andy will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and papa; loyal brother to Ralph "Rick" Young (Stephanie), and Richard "Chip" Young, Jr. (Lynelle); loving stepson of Margaret Young; and stepsister to Christa Ebbert (Raymond).
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Dick" A. Young and mother, Joan Sherrick Young, both of Mt. Lebanon.
Andy was born February 26, 1952, in Pittsburgh. He grew up in Mt. Lebanon, reveling in childhood with his "band of brothers" and 11 other rambunctious cousins who lived nearby. Frequent family picnics and parties kept the Young clan busy and close, and ultimately became the ground on which his steadfast commitment to family was shaped.
As a proud member of the Mt. Lebanon Class of '70, Andy was known to be a friend to all. He was a natural athlete and dedicated high school basketball player, continuing his love for the game at Westminster College, where he earned his degree in economics.
Before retiring, he enjoyed a satisfying career in the financial services industry, working at Federated Investors, Inc. and Delta Data Software, Inc. as well as in other financial consulting capacities.
He enjoyed cycling with his wife and friends on Saturday mornings, chatting with neighbors while working in the yard, and always looked forward to his next golf game. His sense of humor, congeniality, and playfulness with his grandchildren brought Andy and all those around him great joy. Bolstered by his faith in Christ, he lived with remarkable courage and deep peace.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Andy at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church, 1207 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Richard Wolling, Pastor Emeritus. Following the service, an informal "drop in" brunch will be held to share memories of Andy and visit more with the Young Family at The Club at Nevillewood, 1000 Nevillewood Drive, Presto, PA 15142, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Rest In Peace.... I had the honor of playing basketball with Andy. With a quick move, #42 would rocket pass defenders for a layup. Always laughing and encouraging those of us that were benchwarmers. Prayers for Cynthia and Andy´s family.
